Description
This is number 66 of 100 Classic rotary twins made by Norton in 1988. These bikes were offered to a select number of customers specially chosen by Norton Motorcycles, and this example is surely one of the best still in existence.
It has covered under 6000 miles from new and has been preserved and refreshed continually to maintain it in top condition regardless of cost. It has had the all important engine work done by Richard Negus and all invoices, report and Richard's DVD of the rebuild come with the bike. In rotary terminology the engine has been "molied". It is in absolutely exceptional condition having twice been owned by Roger Jones, the UKs rotary guru, from whom I have also obtained two of his magnificent restored Suzuki RE5s.
Whenever the bike has been refreshed all original parts have been carefully preserved, and the crate containing them and some new spares will accompany the bike.
The provenance file for this bike is totally complete: a huge amount of correspondence between its first owner and Norton Motorcycles, everything from Richard Negus, including his DVD of the engine work, two handbooks, all workshop manuals and bulletins, both sets of original keys including the lovely Norton leather key pouch, the original Norton embossed tool kit, original brochures and promotional material, old MOTs and so on. There are lots of photos etc. I have actually done a second video just of the provenance material so that you can see how complete and detailed it is.
Included is an original glossy, full colour promotional brochure that was taken to the Isle of Man by the previous owner when he took the bike there and rode the course. The bike was a sensation. He then got this signed by all the top TT riders in the paddock.
This bike is unlike anything else I have ridden. It is silky smooth, fast, effortless and feels and sounds turbinelike. You will see this if you request the video of it being ridden.
It is part of my collection of fully detailed, immaculate motorcycles. I have decided it is time to sell some of them and I am confident that whoever buys it will be delighted with it.
I have priced it realistically and if you are serious about buying it then it is best to speak with me on the phone. I can be contacted at most times between 8am and 9pm. Please WhatsApp me so that I can send you the videos. Just say "Norton videos please"
There are a good number of motorcycle delivery companies and I can help with arranging delivery for you. The cost seems to be around £150 or so for more or less anywhere in England.
