1969 MGC GT
Just completed three year bare shell, nut and bolt rebuild of this matching numbers C GT.
A fortune spent and hours and hours of work to transform this car which had not been on the road since 1987.
Bodyshell - Completely stripped, shot blasted and repaired with new panels before being painted in MG Mineral Blue. It was built up with new front and rear windscreens and door drop glass. All seals are new as are all door, boot and bonnet catches and locks. All bumpers and over riders were re-chromed.
Engine rebuilt and now running on Valvoline VR1 20/ 20. Cylinder head ported, Borg and Beck H/ D clutch kit with roller release bearing, Wosp high torque starter motor, aluminium radiator, 123 electronic ignition, Power Spark silicone plug leads. The The carburettors were all ultra sonically cleaned before being built up with genuine SU rebuild kits from Burlen Fuel Systems. The carburettors have K&N filters and Maniflow triple inlet manifolds. New fuel tank, fuel pipes, Facet Red Top fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator and filter. Maniflow six branch exhaust manifold and twin pipe two box exhaust system.
Gearbox and over drive completely rebuilt. Rear axle rebuilt with new crown wheel and pinion.
Brakes completely rebuilt with new discs, Green Stuff brake pads, new calipers, new master and slave cylinders and rear linings.
Suspension. Completely rebuilt with new wheel bearings and king pins. Re-bushed throughout with Super Pro purple polyurethane bushes. Holmes Racing uprated torsion bars, Spax adjustable shocks front and rear. Rear springs made to order by GB Springs. Original five stud Cosmic Allow wheels shod with Blockley 185/ 80 15's. Front suspension set-up with 1 degree negative camber.
Interior - Sound deadening material fitted to floor and transmission tunnel. Completely re-trimmed, new seat belts and fitted with MG Owners Club Sports Leather Recliners.
New cloth braided wiring harness throughout. New high output alternator. Dashboard re-finished by specialist in correct crackle finish (as was rocker cover) and radio blacking plate made to allow fitting of additional instruments.
