Description
The 309 was a 1 owner car with a massive service portfolio and original bill of sale owned by a gentleman that built hotels in England for a living. he drove it as his daily car to well
Into the 2000, s as reciepts prove which for a very wealthy man says a lot about the 309. The Car came to n Ireland and rested in a heated mushroom shed for around 4yrs in portadown. Then after its renovation was stored in Erwin’s of Antrim, ex Ford dealerships showroom and sat on display there for several years. A friend of mine who was a panel beater for rolls Royce hand made any repairs which were minimal using the likes of the old English wheel etc and silver soldered into place so no isopon was needed in the car. Pics all verify this. Dent removal was done prior to full glass out outer respray and door jams were done by Rankin cook accident repair in lisburn. cobra customs refurbed the wheels and fitted with period correct new Michelin pilot sport tyres. Engine and suspension were recommissioned with the usual new timing belts radiator and fluids etc. anything needed was sourced with much heartache thru mostly French eBay listings and being either new old stock original equipment or 2nd hnd original parts. The 309 is a car not very well catered for in the restoration world as so few have survived. A full car was purchased from Dublin airport just to get a bonnet. Phase 1 headlights are no longer available nor are the new front bumper fog lights. Overall after being to many shows including the classic at nec I do strongly believe in its present state it is among one of the best cars available. It’s has had a very sympathetic overhaul and is as period correct as was possible at the time of building. As the car presently sits it can be a perfect driver, show car or ready for someone else to take it to the next stage. But if the car itself doesn’t speek volumes then a flick thru the endless reciepts and photos will More than make up for any doubt of how good and honest the car is. Phase 1 3dr cars are few and far between and red being the colour to have in them. And the beauty also about that car is it has never been advertised neither for sale or been showed off at any meetings or car displays. I don’t quite know what more I can put in a message about the car but am more than happy to talk for endless hours about it to anyone.
