Description

JAGUAR XJ6 SERIES III 4. 2 AUTOMATIC 1982 Classic Italian Jaguar Xj6 Series III 4. 2 registered in Bergamo in 1982 and then emigrated to Brescia in 1990. Car in its traditional amaranth colour with beige interior. It has covered only 115, 000 km and can be identified as a beautiful preserved that we have enhanced with a detailing treatment from our atelier. Version with automatic transmission is also equipped with wire wheels, sunroof, radio system. It retains its owner's manual and has a current periodical overhaul due at the end of April 2025. The third series owes its restyling to the expert pencil of Pininfarina. The Turinese stylist intervened sensitively on the lines of the XJ, without distorting the true essence of the car. The most important aesthetic changes were: the revised grille, redesigned and enlarged rear light clusters, a new chrome tail profile, new thicker bumpers with an attached rubber profile including the integration of the turn indicators and rear fog lights, a more inclined windscreen, elimination of the front deflectors, new design of the rear windows and a slightly higher cabin. It was because of the increased roominess that, for the first time in the history of Jaguar saloons, an electric sunroof was available as an option. The interior was also totally redesigned but retained the typical opulence of the British marque, with extensive use of natural leather and walnut root. There were few technical innovations. The 4. 2-litre 6-cylinder benefited from retouches to the fuel supply with the adoption of a fuel injection and larger valves, which led to an increase in maximum power to 205 bhp at 5, 000 rpm and maximum torque to 34 kgm at 2, 900 rpm (but already at 1, 500 rpm 29 kgm was available), while on the transmission front, a 3-speed automatic (Borg-Warner Model 66) was made available. Still built in the presence of founder Sir William Lyons, the Series III was considered 'the last great Jaguar'. Italian preserved car Spoked wheels Sunroof Radio system
