The Appeal
If the BMW 2002 is the car that saved the company during the 60s and 70s, Baur's efforts certainly shouldn't go unnoticed. They were amongst the last truly traditional coachbuilders in Germany, and treated the 2002 with this curious layout - a Targa roof ‘cabrio coach’ arrangement that maintained plenty of rigidity while still getting that lovely stiff breeze into the hair of a whole generation of European drivers.
This particular 1974 example has been well-maintained, with a solid and good bodywork that has been undersealed in the past. The paintwork presents a lovely, retro patina, while the interior is in decent condition for age. The result is a rare, eminently drivable cabrio-coach car that's loaded with retro character that's easy to remove. This a very rare model that is rising in value. Potential buyers are invited to arrange a viewing with the vendor.
