1974 Penton KTM 400cc Twin shock
Road registered. V5 in my name
Fully restored and race ready! Chance to own a piece of history.
Complete overhaul on the bike but mindful to keep the aged patina as seen in photos. Paint job on frame and casings would make it showroom if you so desired but I personally liked the style and aged look it's gained.
Original ceriani forks rebuilt, rears swapped out for new Hagon MX shocks. Original ceriani rears included in sale. Throttle and clutch new cables and new kevlar renthal grips and bar pad.
Drums Front and rear relined and working like factory new. Rims polished and running true, new tyres.
New full engine gasket change, no leaks. Brand new electronic ignition and wiring throughout. All gears good. Serious Compression, first attempt to kick over will show this. Original exhaust repacked and welded on one 5mm split in seam.
Came with original Bing carburetor which must be some lost form of wizardry that beat me so swapped out for new Keihin air striker which is tuned in perfectly. Original Bing included in sale (worth £200 alone)
Leather seat and tank strap all good. Tank in good condition, new taps and hoses.
Wouldn't say this is a head turner it's a stop and stare, honestly draws crowds over to it. Cant imagine there is many of these in the UK. Great fun riding and the power is something to be experienced.
Holds its own on the roads and comes into its own on the dirt. Solid bike which has been mechanically brought back to life whilst maintaining the aged retro look.
After a Norton Commando 750 so would PX against.
