Description
1925 Austin 12/ 4 Clifton Tourer. 1660cc 4 speed. Reg:- TT3368
This car was completely restored by my dad and finished in August 2009.
The restoration is to a high standard as he had a lifetimes experience of restoring old cars. He restored an Austin Seven Arrow, an Austin 7 Van, a Rolls Royce 20/ 25, an Austin 12 Clifton, and this Austin 12 Heavy Clifton Tourer.
Dad was focused on getting authentic parts for the car and ensuring the build was as close to the original specification as possible. He even tracked down the person with the original tool to do the crocodile leather embossing!
The only issue with this car is that over the years the paint on the body has cracked, (the wings, doors and bonnet are not cracked) we have included pictures of this in the advert. There maybe multiple photos of the same crack we so can include videos if requested more accurately show the locations. Although i would advise any potential buyer to come and view the car as the restoration is of a high standard so the paint cracks may or may not be a deciding factor to your purchase once you see how great the car looks and how well it drives.
Dad was active buying parts on E-Bay and in the Austin clubs, he kept receipts for these parts and other services he engaged to build the car. He kept the receipts and some restoration photographs which can be provided with the sale.
We would love to keep the car but due to limited storage space, we must part with this cherished vehicle. The car is in working condition and has been run in the last few months so can be used and enjoyed straight away.
If you’re an enthusiast looking for a rare piece of automotive history, this car could be your next pride and joy. Reach out for more details or to express your interest.
