Description

1971 Lancia Fulvia Coupe 1. 3 (series 2) - LEFT HAND DRIVE

Built 1st quarter of 1971, probably February. Exported from Sicily and imported to the UK in 2004. One UK owner, who has since emigrated to the other side of the world and has asked us to assist with selling car.

At some point prior to its arrival into the UK it has been repainted in this distintive yellow colour, with contrasting black bonnet, in a similar style to the factory rally cars.  Ferrari had Giallo Fly as an option on many of their cars, and the same colour has been used on Lancia Delta Integrales, and other Fiat models. Not all Italian sports cars have to be red!

The car has been de-bumpered using proper HF number plate lights and the correct bumper aperture covers. The car has also been de-badged. The bonnet is an aluminium bonnet from a Series 1 Coupe, which is both lighter than a steel one and less prone to corrosion. This also has rally style bonnet tie down straps in addition to the normal safety catches.

The car currently doesn't have any wing mirrors fitted. If this is an issue, there are three options:
- the correct mirror on the drivers door only (it doesn't work on the passenger door)
- a pair of non-standard, but period correct, round mirrors which work on both doors
- the period racing mirror as fitted to Series 1 HF cars and the Montecarlo limited edition model

The current small front number plate is attached with industrial strength velcro, with a larger version in the boot which can be quickly attached if required. The velcro could easily be removed.

Inside is a pair of front seats from a later Fulvia with headrests which offer better protection in the event of an accident. Britax static seat belts. Seat coverings are the normal leather grain vinyl and are all in good condition. Floor coverings are a combination of thin carpetting and rubber matting - not original but easy to care for.  Dashboard top is in good condition, a minor split to dashboard fascia. A leather steering wheel is fitted. Heated rear window (untested) All the instrument lenses are clear and easy to read. Even the clock works!

The headlining is original, and exhibits some staining around the edges, a couple of holes and some failed stitching. The brake and clutch pedal rubbers are missing but are easy items to replace if required.

The engine bay has been repainted in black, with the cam cover finished in yellow as per the 1600HF with the Lancia text left bare. The engine has been fitted with a pair of the sought after Dell’Orto 35 DHLB carburettors. At some point in Italy, a replacement 1972 818. 302 specification engine was fitted, – although the reason for this change is unknown.

A modern hi-torque starter motor has been recently fitted and there is an under bonnet battery cut-off switch and also a Malpassi 'Filter King' adjustable fuel pressure regulator / fuel filter.

There is a small quantity of spare parts with the car including the original Solex carbs, an exhaust manifold, distributor and original starter motor, and some trim items and a folder of literature.

There isn't a spare wheel, nor a factory tool kit, and there is only one set of keys with the car, although a duplicate set would be easy to arrange.

The wheels are Campagnolo 'Kyalami' wheels in 6 x 14" size, with 175/ 70R14 tyres. The wheels are currently painted black, but they could easily be refinished in a different colour quickly and at modest cost. They are likely to be magnesium alloy. The tyres are a Goodyears on the front, with Pirelli tyres on the rear. Older tyres but not worn out or perished.

The car has benefited from some recent recommissioning works, including new calipers all round, a new brake compensating valve, some brake hoses were replaced, new choke cable, new starter motor etc., All fluids were replaced as well.  Additionally there was some localised bodywork done to the front and rear of the sills at both sides. Invoices on file for all recent work done.

Included in the sale is an outdoor quality Carcoon which the car was normally stored within. These inflatable bubbles circulate filtered air around. The exterior version has silverised material providing a UV barrier, but can also be used indoors.

Omicron can assist with delivery or even export of the car if required.
