This car has been under the current cherished ownership with no expense spared. A full VW service history is provided in the original service booklet. Work completed in the last 6 years includes, but is not limited to:

Dampers and springs replaced with stock Bilstien B6 units all round, new bump stops, bushings and dust covers also.

Very rare period correct Blaupunkt London MR21 radio fitted and factory fit speakers all upgraded to Alpine units. The car was originally supplied without a radio from factory at the first owners request.
NOS (New Old Stock) Votex OEM Wolfsburg / VW mudflaps fitted front & rear.
OEM NOS GL waist trim sourced and replaced.
Rear exhaust muffler replace with OEM NOS unit stamped 'Made in West Germany'. Literally a blast from the past!

The car comes complete with a variety of spares and previously replaced original parts for provenance, including a new exhaust system not yet fitted, new tailgate rubber seal and the passenger side wishbone replacement.

The paintwork has been attended to in areas where needed only by a professional paint correction service. C. 80% remains original, all rust and dent free.

The interior is in good condition. Commensurate with the low mileage the seat bolsters show no wear or sagging. The steering wheel and gear shift look as new. The rear seat has lap belts only, and shows some sun fading on the top. The headlining is clean and tight with no sagging. The dash has only a small crack around one of the vents, otherwise damage free which is testament to a life mostly garaged. The spare wheel well is clean and rust free, the original jack and all tools are present and correct.

As with any classic of this age, there some minor areas which could be improved upon. The underside of the car would benefit from a deep clean / ice blasting.
The pinch welds iwo the front jacking points need attention; straightening, having been jacked incorrectly in the past.
The only piece of equipment that isn't working is the rear windscreen de-mister. Although, with this car only ever used during the summer / dry days, this isn't an issue. Kept covered in a dry garage since 2018 this beautiful, sympathetically restored example rolled off the Karmann production line on the 5th November 1982 as detailed by a Volkswagen Certificate of Authenticity for the car.
6 previous owners, three of those being intermediate dealers.
Registered as a Historic Vehicle, hence Road Tax & MOT exempt. Last MOT test dated 22nd May 2023 shows a clean pass.

A large and detailed history file up to the current day including the original pre sales check sheet by Sheppards Volkswagen of Bishops Stortford on the 1st April 1983 for the first owner, Mrs Reays. The current owner has also kept a detailed diary of all work completed to date with pictorial proof including a previous owners photos from 2012 showing JWC 56Y's immaculate condition. Several VW brochures from 1983 are also included showing the model range for that year and a Blaupunkt radio range available as an upgrade to most high end cars of the time.

All said, there isn't much this stunning car wants for, she starts on the button, the Pierburg semi auto choke performing as it should. The auto gear change is smooth and the kick down works surprisingly well, catapulting this car forward and putting a huge grin on the drivers face! Ride and handling are on point thanks to the suspension and brake system refurbishment giving the driver confidence in it's abilities. Don't forget, the MkII Scirocco shares the same A1 platform chassis that the legendary VW Mk1 Golf uses. Hence spares are plentiful and readily available.

Bought by the current owner for a trip down memory lane (his first car back in 1989). But the time has come to move on and make some new memories, making way for another 80's classic...

The almost faultless appearance of this rare car still turns heads today, 42 years on, a real time warp if you want to get back to the 80's in style!

Don't hesitate to ask for additional info / photos if required.
