DESCRIPTION
The 993 ‘Cup’ car followed on from where the 964 ‘Cup’ left off, it being a purpose-built racing car designed for Porsche’s one-make. The 993 ‘Cup’ car helped to further cement the legendary status of the 911 as a motorsport icon. Porsche’s one make series’ have been at the forefront of motorsport for decades, and with Porsche’s GT3 Cup Series Original ‘Cup’ cars can be bought and are ideal for anyone considering taking up historic racing, representing excellent value for money when compared to the likes of the RSR and GT2 models, but still demand a price-tag of £200, 000 or more.
The car presented here started life as a European-delivered 1997(MY) Porsche 911 (993) S Coupé. In c. 2012, it is understood that an avid car collector and racer acquired the base/ standard car in Italy and to avoid having to use his other cars on track, he decided to have this car race-prepared with no expense spared.
The Porsche is also road-registered with the very appropriate registration number, N993 RSR, which is included in the sale. The engine has been rebuilt, and only done 300 miles.
