1985 Citroen 2CV6 Special in yellow (Jaune) with a genuine 46, 446 miles recorded. Supplied new by Charles Lewis Citroen Ltd of Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury on 1st August 1985 its first local lady owner kept the car until July 2002 covering just over 46, 000 miles and having recorded 15 services mainly at the supplying dealer.
I purchased the car purely for prosperity in July 2002 as I worked at Charles Lewis Citroen in 1985 when the car was sold. Fortunately, I was in a position to rectify the usual faults through the company I worked for making use of the franchised bodyshop’s facility and technicians.
The intentional tidy up turned into a full body off restoration and new galvanized chassis from 2CV City in Sowerby Bridge. Although this car is not concours its extremely good as the images show and is welcome to any inspection by appointment.
There are some minor bits and pieces that are not perfect and hopefully shown in these images like the front passenger seat outer cord showing along with other very minor imperfections. However, this is a really good, honest and reliable example with provenance from the date of first registration with the first keeper owning the car for 17 years and then I have personally owned it for the last 22 years.
The car has the original owner’s manual, two sets of keys with the original supplier’s key fob and service book.
At 46349 miles it had a steering hub replaced, wheel bearing and kingpin set with receipt available. At 46372 miles the car was serviced with the record stamped and has an MOT’d until 5 November 2025. The car has now covered 46, 446 miles and is not taxed but on SORN. I have the V5 in my name so the car can be taxed and keeper changed online immediately.
This is a matching numbers French (Paris) built 2CV Special that is 39 years old and will be road tax exempt in August 2025. It has the original 2 cylinder air cooled 602 cc horizontally opposed twin motor. It has no modifications whatsoever and is standard to original factory specification complete without radio.
The car is currently located in the showroom of the main Citroen agent Greenhous Telford, Trench Lock TF1 5SU for promotional purposes. It can be viewed on site but I must stress this is only on loan so the staff cannot offer their usual services so interest should be directed to me directly.
I am only selling the car as I simply do not use it having covered only 380 miles in 22 years of ownership.
