Description
The 1966 Lincoln Continental is a symbol of American automotive luxury from the 1960s. This elegant sedan, featuring clean, striking lines and the iconic "suicide doors" (rear-hinged doors), earned a reputation as a car for discerning customers and became an icon of its era. It came equipped with an impressive array of features that were hard for competitors to match at the time—air conditioning, power windows, and hydraulic power steering were standard. Under the hood, it housed a powerful 7. 5-liter V8 engine, delivering a smooth ride and ample performance for long-distance journeys. This model was even part of the United States presidential fleet, further emphasizing its prestige.
This particular vehicle was purchased by its current owner in 2017 and underwent a complete two-year restoration. It was registered in the Czech Republic in 2019. The restoration involved the purchase of parts worth approximately 150, 000–200, 000 CZK, including piston rings, crankshaft bearings, timing chains, axle overhaul kits, and air springs for the rear suspension to strengthen it under heavier loads. Additional work included installing new electrical wiring, a refurbished carburetor, a water pump, complete brakes, and other components. The total investment in the restoration reached 650, 000 CZK, including a new paint job.
The car also comes with spare parts, such as the original carburetor, fenders, a trunk lid, and other components, making it not only a collector's gem but also a practical classic car ready for the road.
