I bought this last spring as kind of a rolling restoration project, a genuine UK bike, it was a non runner having been rebuilt then left standing for over 10 years, i changed the oil, refurbished the carbs, fitted a new battery and very soon it was running and riding, i ran it round for the summer, it's a great bike, lovely lazy motor, good brakes, smooth gearbox, everything works and just a really nice bike to ride, it was a little sad looking though due to it's time in storage so i decided a full strip down and rebuild was the way forward.
The Frame has been chemically stripped and powder coated a deep glossy black, it has had new tyres, and shock absorbers, the brakes have been refurbished and new braded hoses added, i have retained the linked brake system because i quite liked it, the paintwork is new, black and white base coat with several coats of 2k lacquer, the pinstripes are paint and not stick on stripes, the seat is original and in great condition, the engine required nothing, just a deep clean and detail, The wiring loom has been checked out end to end. The starter motor is new, as is the battery, it has electronic ignition for reliability. The downpipes are double skin stainless, breathing through some short reverse cone megaphones, it sounds gorgeous and not too loud just a nice deep tone It starts easily and runs without fault, the oil light goes off instantly and the charging light goes off as the revs rise, just as it should, the engine is mechanically quiet and smoke free, it's showing 34700 on the clock but this is in kilometres which equates to around 22k miles, while this can't be guaranteed it is probably correct, the speedo cable was broken, it had rusted up in the outer cable while standing and broke when i first rode the bike so i have done a few hundred miles this summer with it not working and i fitted a new one while it was on the bench, the mileage on the on line MOT history seems to add up, this is a lovely, rare and desirable old Guzzi in fantastic condition, it is now of course registered as historic so tax and mot exempt, viewing is encouraged the bike is ready to go, ( it will come with new chrome mirrors and pillion pegs ) cash on collection or bank transfer (preferred) only please, contact me for a start up and walk around video.
