Description
I have a 1990 Celica GT4 ST185, black. widebody. I'm looking to sadly sell after 14 years of ownership. She has had two owners before. A couple, the wife had her as a company car and then the husband took over until I bought her back in 2010 from a private dealership in Kent.
The last MOT was October last year. I last took her to a mechanic this year to get an oil leak seen to. The aircon does not work neither does the heater core, so as an over-heating preventative measure, the fan was made to turn on all the time while the car was running. The was turned off during the work that was done this year and has not been re-attached, so the car cannot be run, as it will overheat, not right away, but when the engine is warm. As long as the fan is on, over-heating never occurs.
Has a sunroof, but needs a motor.
The ABS light comes on, but was checked by an electrician and he told us all was ok with the system and that it was just a sensor. As Toyota do not make these sensors anymore, we had to improvise, and for a while it was fine, but the issue has since returned and seems to occur after a while driving.
The windshield has some rust on the left side, which was taken care of and the windshield was replaced, but it has since returned, which we were told would happen.
The paint work is ok, but does have some areas of sun damage. We were told that the company that first had the car had a special paint job done to the car and it looks quite shiny.
The CD and cassette player no longer work.
All receipts of work done over the years of my ownership are available and also the original logbook.
Only modification that has been done is an exhaust which resembles her original exhaust and gives a nice sound.
Have recently taken care of the oil leak, but there is still some slight dripping from the front of the engine bay. Mechanic told me that it will probably need an engine rebuild at some point in the future due to its age, but the leak is very slight at the moment.
I want her to go to a good home if possible, as I'm no longer in a position to do so.
I need to sell her by January 15th next year, so please serious buyers only. I first bought it out of necessity, as our GTI had a failure and needed to be sold. Over time, I grew to love the car and its uniqueness. Over the years, I kept trying to keep up with the maintenance, but it proved harder and harder due to the dwindling numbers of the car and Toyota no longer supporting with parts.
I have loved the time spent with the car and it breaks my heart to have to let her go, but have no choice in the matter.
