Due to bereavement my Father’s Volvo for sale. Now registered in my name & address.
1998 Volvo S40 1. 8cc. Petrol. 115, 000+ miles. Auto. Red.
MOT ran out 30 March 2024.
It’s been run & driven round the static home site he lived at by his neighbour just to keep it turned over & fresh but I think it would do it well to have a full service now.
Unfortunately last time I was down there the battery was flat & even on a jump start I couldn’t get it going so presuming it needs a fresh new battery or starter/ solenoid???
Webbing for the driver's seat will either need fixing or replacing & the driver’s door panel needs some attention.
The car has always been well looked after, ran well & drove with no issues
It's never been driven hard as such & only been used locally. Anytime anything needed doing it was taken care of. Would be a great motor for someone looking for a Volvo saloon.
This car is too good to scrap in my own opinion, if I could get it to where I live (I’m in Surrey, the car is at Ferndown, Hants) & had the space/ facilities, I'd have it myself.
So if you're a Volvo lover, fanatic, future classic saver (hence my advertising here) & would like to save this car please get in contact. The other possibility is if you have space & own a S40 yourself it'd make an ideal donor car for parts over time. I've done this myself with other cars in the past when I've had the room & a similar car has come up for sale. What second hand parts go for these days are unbelievable especially as many for this model can't be brought new & even second hand they can be difficult to obtain, ie: indicator stalk, seats, other odds & sods! I've found this out on a few bits that I've had to source for him over the years. Just look on line at the item prices, second-hand breakers, Ebay, Facebook, etc.
The car could possibly be driven away on trade plates or trailered (once started!).

It was owned for many years by my dad who hardly drove it over the past few years, let alone hard or fast. He's always had whatever needed doing done when he was driving it daily. I feel it's a car worth saving rather than spare parts but that will obviously be up to the new owner.
