Description
A good honest late 1940's British bike in good condition with original frame, engine & gearbox. The motorcycle with an age related non transferable registration number.
The bike has been restored, list of work carried out is listed below:-
* Engine and Gearbox totally rebuilt all bearings checked and where necessary replaced, including main and big end bearings.
* Superior quality Honda K1 pistons fitted in new thick flange barrels.
* New clutch inserts (cork).
* Dynamo & Mag reconditioned (Mag converted to electronic ignition).
* Electronic voltage control fitted.
* Wheels rebuilt using new English (Devon) wheel rims.
* New brake shoes, front hub skimmed and oversize shoes fitted to match.
* New cylinder head valves, springs and guides.
* Royal Enfield comfortable cushioned saddle fitted (Vast improvement over a Lycett)
* New Dellorto carbs fitted. These are superior to the originals and tuneable to the nth degree.
* Starts first time even in winter.
* Pulls very well & will cruise between 50-60 Mph.
* The engine and gearbox have been run in properly for 1000miles and 500 miles have been covered since.
* Brakes are very good.
* Paint and chrome in good condition.
* New tyres.
* Many other new parts fitted by the previous owner including new original pattern mudguards made exclusively to original drawings for owners club.
* Very oil tight for a British bike from 1948.
I am selling this great bike on behalf of a friend. Petrol tank needs a little attention, some of the varnish has crazed and a small bit of epoxy filler has been used, the tank does not leak. The chrome wheels are excellent but have painted rim centres, which is flaking in places.
