INCREDIBLY RARE EARLY ELECTRIC VAN. Only 2 owners from new with just over 24, 000 miles. Owned by FORD UK until 2018 and then bought by the second private owner and early EV devotee who has owned it from 2018 until we took it back in part-exchange against a Citroen Berlingo EV van in November this year. Developed by Ford and an American company called AZURE DYNAMICS. The Wikipedia entry for this vehicle details its convoluted design and development and finally the fizzling out of Fords high expectations resulting in only 500 being built with a mere 14 being brought into the UK to be used by Ford in their factories. The maximum range maybe only 80 miles ( but probably nearer 60 ) but I can say that it was a revelation to drive, quiet, smooth and incredibly easy to drive with the AUTOMATIC gearbox. Its failure was mainly due to the huge initial purchase price against a standard ICE version. Apart from the silence the uninitiated upon climbing in and starting wouldn't at first realise it was ELECTRIC. The controls and starting is no different from the equivalent petrol/ diesel version. Charging through a 3 pin 13 amp household plug a full charge takes 12-14 hours. Maximum range is apparently 80 miles although the previous owner has indicated that he has never been further than 60 miles before re-charging. Very nicely equipped with power steering, ABS brakes, traction control, air-conditioning, quick clear heated windscreen, CD radio stereo with steering wheel mounted controls, daytime running lights, rear parking sensors, remote central locking, electric windows, electric door mirrors and driver and passengers front air-bags. Used as a private vehicle since 2018 by an early EV adopter who wanted an electric vehicle without paying Tesla money this van has had very very light use. Surprisingly nice condition with no signs of abuse and in all original condition with the factory supplied stereo, wheel-trims etc. This is the high volume version of the Transit Connect with the higher roof, un-glazed rear barn doors, twin sliding side loading doors, full bulk-head with viewing window, clean ply lining and ply floor. This is in really superb condition for a 13 year old commercial. Surprisingly clean MOT history with no failures and only one advisory notice in 10 years back in 2022 for a perished tyre. Starts easily and drives perfectly being smooth and silent. Current MOT until November 2025 with NO ADVISORY NOTICES.
