Description

Very rare Fiat 132 Special 1600 from the first series, year 1972.

Type 132A/ 5S chassis number 0109584, in overall good condition, sound and rust-free bodywork, never crashed, original paintwork in good condition (a few slight paintwork imperfections, blistering in a few limited areas and a few light scratches), fully running and running, complete and original example.

The car is a very rare first series of this sports saloon model with a brilliant 105 HP twin-shaft engine, with very complete equipment (five-speed gearbox, self-locking differential, instrumentation with rev counter and oil pressure gauge, head rests, athermic windows, heated rear window, metallic paint (Fiat code 577, metallic champagne), green vinyl interior (almost perfect, only a couple of small cracks on the driver's seat), black carpeting.

The car runs really well, with a powerful engine and excellent compression; fast and snappy, with excellent road holding and efficient brakes, suspension and steering in good order, this Fiat 132 is ready to take on any journey with absolute peace of mind.

The car has also just been serviced with a new timing belt, revised carburettor, new radiator, new electric fuel pump, new brake fluid reservoirs, new brake master cylinder, new brake calipers, new brake hoses, new handbrake cables, new shock absorbers, new exhaust system, new starter motor, new battery, new windscreen washer bag, new wiper blades. This car has the documents of its first registration in Varese in 1974 (since then it has had only one thoughtful owner) after which it obtained the number plate VA 429637, today the car is deleted from the Public Register but I have the Chronological Extract for its re-registration or export as well as copies of the registration certificate and the complementary sheet (title deeds).

The jack, tool bag and original owner's handbook are also present. The car is located in Trana (postcode 10090), 25 kilometres from Turin, Italy. It can be collected on site or can be shipped to any destination at a reasonable cost.

Further photos and videos available on request. This Fiat 132 Special 1600 is a very rare car. It is in fact a first series built for just one and a half years before being replaced by the second series, from spring 1972 to February 1974. The differences on the outside are the rear lights, the front grille, the rear doors, the dashboard and the steering wheel; mechanically everything remained almost unchanged. The heir to the 125, the 132 reintroduced the concept of a sports saloon with a two-litre displacement, a punchy twin-cam engine (already fitted to the 124 Sport and 125) and road-holding that made it a worthy competitor to the Alfa Romeo saloons. To produce it at the Turin Mirafiori plant, welding robots were introduced for the first time. This example of the 132 was bought new from Fiat's Varese branch by its first and only registered owner (an engineer from a village on the Lombard shore of Lake Maggiore) at a price of £ 1, 960, 000 (Italian lira) and registered on 10 June 1974 (when the second series 132 had already been marketed). On 15 April 1991, after years of careful and painstaking use, its owner decided to take it out of service and store it in his garage at home for twenty-five years, cancelling its registration (and thus avoiding paying ownership tax).
