1968 Buick skylark custom coupe, very rare model even in the USA. I’m a self confessed Buick nut and have several much earier cars . and have owned over 40 Buicks from 1915 to 1973. Yes bordering on insane.
The custom has a a few more body mouldings and a bit more flash, has rear spats covering most of rear wheels that can be easily removed if you like the full rear wheel visible muscle look. Google for other cars to see the look. Cars with spats are super rare.
Air con car but not operational.

Under bonnet not messed about with, still has original Rochester 2 barrel, absolutely no need for anything else.
I bought this as a winter light recommission (basically check over) and plan was a more daily driver than my older show cars.
Was last on road in anger 5 years ago, stops starts steers, no issues at all but I would recommend a good once over.
I’ve been out in it briefly but only locally and performed well.
Re myself doing the work In reality this won’t happen I’ll over restore this and get carried away. Or leave it for another year. And I really need to spend this winter working on a 1915 Buick rather than another toy. Ive reached breaking point with my decent storage. Not the first time ………
These skylarks are great looking cars , do you research then you will realise just how miserable and predictable mustangs and Chevelles really are. Yes I’m biased. All parts available to keep this gm platform on the road. The 68/ 69 skylarks are stunning coupes.
The build quality and components far exceeds the more common cars we are used to seeing at every car show on the planet ..
Car is fundamentally rust free, floor pans and sheet metal not far off the condition it left Detroit. Original 350 Buick v8 . Sounds absolutely wonderful. Repeat rust free. This car is basically stock. Straight as an arrow, perfect shut lines and not messed about with .
Car has just the right patina (a word incorrectly used these days) paint is ok by no means perfect but looks just right, marks on every panel , blemishes few tiny bubbles, but something really nice about the condition. If you know you know. Chrome is all aged respectively but not unacceptable.
Comes with brand new expensive full seal kit for doors and windows etc as some are perished all easy to swap out, luckily the awkward quarter light windows have been done.
Same as interior all there bit tired but nothing really needs doing in my opinion maybe one nasty split in dash top panel . many more pics and vids can be sent once contact is made. It’s unlikely illl respond to messages all night if we have not spoken . Full walk around vids , whatever you want.
I’ve had yanks for 35 years…. Enthusiast not tell you anything dealer. I know good cars and this is one of them.
Definitely would not invest money into paint and interior as pointless and the look is extremely desirable as it is..
Needs checking over , all common sense stuff. Brakes checking , Fluids , etc etc what I would do to any car. runs lovely. Clearly a strong engine.
Although o/ s exhaust manifold leak which I have pair of gaskets recently purchased for plus full service kit etc. bit of a fiddly job if I’m honest.

Everyone says this i do not need to sell for ££ reasons just practical reasons. I love this car , pop for a brew have a chat, see how ridiculous my hobby is. I will add I have a model t for sale for same practical space reasons.
I have the original steering wheel but I changed it as badly cracked for a new copy cat Buick gs type.
There are lots and lots of wonky poor fitting panels muscle cars full of shite and filler and dodgy welded or riveted floor pans etc with poor but shiny 2k paint . I’m an old school mechanic who’s actually worked on these cars and certainly seen some rubbish about and you will not be disappointed. Not a show car but will attract attention for all the right reasons. Straight cars are very difficult to find in the uk.
