Description
‘Land Cruisers don’t leak oil; they’re marking their territory.’
The Toyota FJ60 Land Cruiser is one of those vehicles that awakens your primal instinct and longs to dive into the wilderness. Launched in the 1980s as the big brother of the legendary FJ40, this off-road beast was designed to dominate anything impassable – and it still does so with ease.
The design? Well, it seems like it was created by a Japanese kindergarten class during a free drawing session, and Toyota thought: "Perfect, this is it!" No frills, just pure function. And that’s exactly the charm. While the kindergarten kids worked on the lines, Toyota’s engineers focused on the mechanics – and once again, they proved they could be trusted blindly.
With an indestructible ladder frame and the brute force of a 4. 2-liter inline-six engine, the FJ60 is built to devour anything from dusty deserts to snowy mountain passes.
Ours...
Delivered in 1986 and used as intended: plowing through rugged terrain. However, the previous owner was (just) a little too careful and often chose paved roads. As a result, it is still in excellent condition. The car arrived in the Netherlands in 2021 and has been thoroughly serviced by a specialist. This included extensive maintenance and technical upgrades, leaving it in top technical condition.
This is the vehicle designed to chase the horizon, dive through riverbeds, and kick up clouds of dust. And yet, it’s now here with us, in flat and orderly Netherlands – not where it truly belongs, unless… it’s parked at the Clubhuys of the Cool Classic Club. The perfect place where new adventures are just waiting to begin. Then, we’d gladly leave it in your hands!4. 2 V8 - FJ 60 - Super Maintained -
