Selling my cherished SL320 Mille Miglia (R129),
In 1995 Mercedes released the Mille Miglia edition, to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Stirling Moss winning the 1955 Mille Miglia road race. The limited edition was available in either SL 320, or SL 500 guise; came in Brilliant Metallic Silver; and had Evo II six-spoke polished alloys, red and black leather interior, carbon-fibre trim, chequered flag accents on the front wings and extra equipment.
This is a rare limited edition 1 of only 50 (SL320) right hand drive cars built. Decent mileage of only 114k, 3. 0l with straight V6, 24 value engine with 228 bhp (231PS; 170kW) at 5, 500 rpm.
Ideal for any collector or enthusiast to enjoy. This car has been very well looked after by myself including restoration to the canvas roof windows; engine liner and indicator lights. Never failed an MOT and just passed our rigorous Northern Ireland MOT with flying colours on 6 Dec 2024.
This modern classic comes with the following unique spec:
• Chequered flag accents on the front wings
• Black and red leather interior
• Carbon fibre trim on interior doors and centre console
• Additional interior equipment (A/ C, lights etc)
I have owned the car since 2016 and it has been maintained by an experience ex-Mercedes mechanic, never an issue mechanically or structurally. Anything that did need done was carried out:
• New battery
• Full engine service
• Suspension bushings replaced
• New front and rear disc brakes/ pads
• New bonnet insulation pad
• New tyres
Overall the bodywork and underside are in good condition. Some minor imperfections such as scuffs, stone chips and rust spots in the paintwork to be expected for a car of this age and can be easily addressed by the new owner to make perfect.
The car is a 1995 model and shows 5 former keepers on the logbook. No accident history and is HPI clear. 1 genuine Mercedes remote key fob. There are lots of other high specification features as standard, including electric/ heated seats, automatic air conditioning, auto-dimming, electric soft top and factory hard top, electric fully adjustable leather steering wheel, locking wheel nuts fitted to alloys.
It is a stylish and appreciating classic, and should prove to be a reliable and practical car for its next owner.
