This is one of two Triumph Acclaims I have for sale at the moment. My collection is getting too large and I have to let some go as they need using. The thought of them being stood up all winter again is not a good feeling. These cars need to be used and its time for someone else to care for this one. In all honesty its not the best I have ever owned, however it is very presentable and useable as a daily driver. The paintwork is not too bad but it would do no harm to have a re spray. The engine is a good strong engine , it runs nice and cool with no plug fouling. It has has had new pistion rings an a refurbished head. It does smoke a bit from a cold start and it uses a bit of oil , which disappears before its up to full temperature. This could just be the rings bedding in ….. it may even get better with more mileage on it. Its actually a slightly famous Acclaim and was featured on a Top gear episode a good few years ago ( before Clarkson Hammond and May ). Search Youtube for Triumph Acclaim Top Gear.
Even though its no longer as shiny as it was way back in the video and there are now a few dings/ dents, its still a good car and was well worth saving. The imperfections relate in the price and it wont take a huge amount of time to take it to the next level. Although after saying that its fine as it it in my opinion and should give years of fun an nostalgic pleasure. Ready to go and has a new MOT. Thank you for reading.
