Style Icon with fantastic handling performance
Citation Fritz B. Busch (Renowned German motoring journalist):
„I could no longer rest easy, wouldn´t I be aware in my garage resides an E-Type“
… and even Enzo Ferrari ennobled the E-Type being the „Most beautiful car of the world“
The E-Type typifies glamour and allure of the Swinging 60´s more than any other vehicle of it´s era.
Our 1963 Series 1 car, the archetype of an E-Types, presumably embodies the most sustainable automobile icon, the empire ever created.
According to the documents, available to us, the following history can be drawn:
The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust states that our E-Type roadster has been finished on 4th of March 1963 as „Fixed Head Coupé Right Hand Drive“. It has been delivered by „Henlys Limited of Manchester" on 14th of March to it´s first owner (known by name) in Heswall, Cheshire.
In January 1974 the Jag has been bought by Mr. Brian H. from Basildon, Essex, who drove the car for several years until he finally decided to put it in storage in his private garage.
In March 1988 Mr. Brian H. decided to have the car fully restored and finished as an Open Two Seater / Roadster.
The project was started in July 1988 and successfully completed in March 1991. John Hartley T/ AS Classic Touch has been assigned to carry out this project. In the course of the restauration a „new“ factory standard roadster body (using NOS and factory standard parts) has been built and all mechanical components rebuilt or renewed.
According to Mr. Brian H. they strived for a result „at least as good or better than original condition“.
The outstanding condition of the „new“ roadster in terms of bodywork / appearance, technical components and detailing as well as the quality of craftsmanship was confirmed by finishing second at the Concours D´Elegance of the Jaguar Driver´s Club on August 10, 1997.
At this point of time (1997) the odometer reading was 4. 179 miles (after restauration).
At present, the odometer reading is about 10. 500 miles.
In the meantime the car was perfectly garaged and maintained – not much driven, but continuously held in good working condition.
The present condition widely conforms to the condition after the restauration was completed in 1991. After inspection of the available paperwork, technical inspection and assessment of bodywork, interior and test drive, the Classic Data expertise concludes with an overall rating of „2 plus“.
The underside of the car is painted in body colour and is as clean as the upper side. There is no thick undersealing at all, no hidden disasters, no rust or whatsoever.
Our Jag starts easily and immediately idles stable and quiet.
Cold or warm, the engine acceleration is strong and prompt.
The 3. 8 litre 6 cylinder engine enthuses with it´s high torque level and enormous performance.
The powerful acceleration, the warp-resistant body together with the exact and sensitive steering and suspension – all together adds to a gorgeous driving experience:
50th Jaguar racing technology, domesticated for road use.
For detailed viewing – strictly after appointment -- the car will be presented in our show room also on a 4 post lift.
We will be happy to assist you in shipping this wonderful E-Type to the UK or to anywhere in the world.
