Description
"The one is a sports car with limousine comfort, the other a comfort limousine with sports car performance. Which one will you choose?" - Mercedes-Benz
As the cherry on top, Mercedes launched the 280 SL W113 in 1967 after the great success of the 230 SL and 250 SL. For many of us, they saved the best for last. A larger 2. 8L engine with 20 additional roaring Stuttgart horses and an insanely sharp-sounding inline-6 made all the difference for many people, making this model an instant success.
The chassis was a shortened version of the W111 S-Class generation, and the M180 was, in reality, an advanced development of an aircraft engine. With its elongated nose, large Bakelite steering wheel, rear-wheel drive, and immense popularity, the model earned itself a nickname: the Pagoda. The nickname ‘Pagoda’ comes from the W113 model range's distinctive roof design, which resembles the curved roofs of Far Eastern temples... need we say more?
Ours is a prime example! Originally delivered in the Netherlands at the end of 1968 and since then owned by only 3 happy owners. Under its last owner, this example was professionally repainted in Arabergrau Metallic, which, combined with the red interior, gives this already stylish Pagoda even more character. Exceptionally well-maintained, which you’ll feel every second behind the wheel. Will you be the first to experience it?Dutch Delivered - 3 Owner -
