Description
Few BMWs of recent decades are as fascinating and unique as the Alpina D10 based on the E39. With its combination of timeless design and technical sophistication, this model stands out not only from the E39 series, but also from other sports saloons of its era. Developed by Alpina as one of the first diesel performance saloons, the D10 set new standards in terms of driving dynamics and efficiency, with a modified 3. 0-litre inline 6-cylinder turbodiesel at its heart, producing up to 245 hp and an impressive 500 Nm of torque. Alpina optimised the engine with an improved turbocharger, a revised intercooler and specific control software. The result was not only excellent acceleration, but also exceptionally low fuel consumption for this performance class. The power is transmitted via a precisely tuned 5-speed automatic transmission, which enables both comfortable cruising and sporty driving. The Alpina SwitchTronic system also allows manual gear changes via buttons on the steering wheel - a first in this vehicle class. Visually, the D10 impresses with the typical Alpina features: the deep front splitter, the unmistakable side decals and the iconic 19-inch multi-spoke rims, which give it an unmistakable appearance. The body was lowered slightly to improve road-holding, while the suspension was specially tuned for dynamics and comfort. The interior of the D10 offers luxurious materials, perfectly finished, and many of the most modern comfort features of the time. The Alpina badge with the individual serial number is particularly striking and emphasises the exclusivity of this model. When you buy an Alpina D10, you not only acquire a piece of automotive history, but also a true classic that redefined the limits of what was possible for diesel vehicles of its time.
