Description
Mercedes 500 SEC W140 coupe. 1993. Brilliant Silver Metallic. Grey leather
This is an incredibly luxurious Mercedes Sonderklasse, a car that will never be made again. It hails from an era that’s gone for good.
The development of the W140 exceeded its budget by a significant margin, leading to the firing of the chief designer. It was the last time engineers were allowed to design a car, as the process shifted to a more market-driven approach thereafter.
This 500 SEC is equipped with so many features and buttons, it feels like sitting in an aircraft cockpit. Naturally, a Sonderklasse comes with features like thermal windows and soft-close doors and trunk!
The engine is regarded as one of Mercedes’ finest: the M119 V8 producing 326 hp.
It’s in outstanding condition and drives like a dream. The leather shows no signs of wear, and it’s as pristine underneath as the day it was made. There have been three owners in total—one in Germany and two in Denmark. It was originally imported from 74722 Buchen in Southern Germany. The last owner in Denmark was a well-known hi-fi designer who was very particular about maintenance and kept the car since 2005.
The car has been stored since 2019 in excellent, dry conditions, and I’ve “revived” it, addressing all known issues with the W140 series as part of preventative maintenance.
Its last registered number was VX53793. The car will come with a fresh inspection and three keys with infrared remote control (see image of the original key box). The original registration document is also included.
You can also choose to purchase original W140 AMG 19” wheels (Aero 2).
