Description
This is about as rare as they come.
A very late Lotus Esprit HC Turbo with just 8, 108 warranted miles which has remained in single family ownership plus the current keeper from new. Verified via the Lotus Certificate of Provenance on file as the only factory built car in Silver Frost with black leather / velour seats during the 1986 production year, it remains in superb original real road ready condition. Simply superb !
Some general and technical information first:-
The 1987 model year saw the introduction of the Turbo HC (High Compression) engine and this model was only available for a single model year, (October 1986 to July 1987) as the car was then replaced by the revised 1988 model year 'Peter Stevens' Esprit.
This Esprit was the 22nd out of just 135 cars produced (including the Limited Editions model), and the chosen specification was Silver Frost (the rarest of the 14 pallet colours) with special request black velour* seat centres along with black carpets. Optional extras were: air-conditioning; full leather*; metallic paint; carpet mats; glass sun roof; and a clarion radio/ cassette.
The Lotus was signed from production on 6th November 1986 and supplied by Motorway Sport Cars, who carried out the P. D. I. on 9th February 1987 and sold the car on the 12th February. The original registration number pleasingly remains on car.
The history file contains the original sales invoice, Lotus wallet & hand books, Lotus Certificate of Provenance, spare key, historical invoices & correspondence, mots dating back to 1990 and even a mileage log with corresponding dates and destinations, all written across 3 dairies. As you can see from the photographs, even the tool kit is complete and unused. A huge service was carried out less than 300 miles ago.
This car has very evidently been beautifully looked after. I know it was properly garaged/ stored thus there really isn't any part of the car that shows discernible wear or deterioration. There's entirely different feel to an unrestored, low mileage car, which quickly comes apparent when behind the wheel or even simply whilst closing a door. It really is in magnificent original condition and perhaps the best original example of any car that I have brought to the market.
A major service including cambelt just untaken by leading independent Lotus Specialist Max Hurst (Max 500). His opinion is worthy of note, and he maintains this is simply best original example that he has seen/ worked upon.
It would be a pleasure to answer any questions you might have. However, to really appreciate this Lotus it needs to be seen “in the flesh”, so do please call me directly on +44(0)the details below a arrange a viewing.
