Description
1963 DKW Auto Union, left hand drive, colour red (maroon) with cream roof. Imported into Britain in 2010 and I am only the second British owner, having purchased the car in 2017. Engineering work carried out in 2018 by two stroke guru, Tim Bishop of Connaught Green and includes rebuilt engine on 40 DCOE webber carburettor, clutch, stinger tuneable BTB side exhaust, Gaz shock absorbers, wheel cylinders, EGT meter, rev counter, wheels and tyres. Car MOT'd up until 2022 although is age exempt. Good overall condition for year. Comes with spare engine, set of wheels and comprehensive paperwork file. Known in DKW Owners Club circles and featured in various classic car magazines including Classic Monthly, Classic and Sportscar and DKW Owners Club magazine - Two Stroke.
Displayed at 2018 Goodwood Members Meeting.
Competed at 2019 Boness Revival Hillclimb, winning the Jim Clark Celebration Class on handicap.
Invited to the 2022 Jackie Stewart Classic event at Thirlestane Castle .
