Description
We have owned this 90 for 14 years, and Land Rovers continuously for the past 35 years, and we been keen enthusiasts in that time. During the time we have owned this vehicle we have tried to produce our ultimate Defender, with many sensible and practical features and extras, whilst maintaining the original standard appearance. As you can see in the pictures it is in exceptional condition, and is very well preserved. It is kept garaged.
Mechanically the 90 is pretty standard. The only changes are the higher Discovery gearing in the transfer gearbox for more comfortable road use, a new clutch and a galvanized rear chassis crossmember. We also changed the intercooler for a full-width performance replacement. The main chassis is original and very well preserved, as it has been waxoyled annually for the last 14 years at least.
When we bought the 90 it was a full soft top, and we ran it like that for a few years. But around 7 years ago we decided to make it more practical and secure by converting it to a hardtop. This was combined with a full re-spray in the original coastguard navy blue. At the same time we fitted brand new genuine side doors and rear door, and fitted a genuine LR sunroof. The hardtop has a full genuine headlining, and the sides are also lined with tailored protector panels. Many parts were changed during the re-build process - too many to list here, but most of the major items are listed below.

First Registered 1. 12. 1995. We have owned this exceptional Defender 90 since 2010. It has been my wife's vehicle and used privately during that time. But after 14 years and recent retirement we are no longer using the vehicle as much as we did. It covered only 2000 miles last year.
The 90 has covered only 66, 410 miles since new, and it has had only 3 previous owners. The first registered owner was the Coastguard Agency, who must have had it as a reserve vehicle, as it had covered just 7, 500 miles when the previous owner bought it in 2008. We bought it from him with just 15, 000 miles on the clock.
The 90 is ready for the next chapter in its life. It is ready for the road and to cover many more miles with its original bomb-proof 300 Tdi engine. I personally believe the Tdis' to have been the best all round Land Rover engines ever built. All they need is a battery and some fuel and they are ready to go. There are no electronics to worry about.
It is ready to go off-road if needed, and is equipped to do that, or is equally happy sat on the motorway at 70mph, with its higher Discovery gearing. A great Defender for work or leisure.
