Description
For sale is my 1931 Pierce Arrow with a 6 litre straight eight engine. The car was subject to a chassis up rebuild in Holland a few years ago and has travelled little since. It is in excellent mechanical and structural condition. I enjoyed driving it immensly, with its smooth, torquey engine, but it will not start now due to a defective ignition lock barrel. I have just had a number of items rechromed to the highest standard (copper, nickel, then chrome). Unfortunately, I was taken into hospital for heart surgery so am unable to fix the lock and there are no autoelectricians anywhere near where I live in Brittany, France.
The car is British registered and I have the V5C. Although it was built in the USA, it is right hand drive as it was built for the South African market.
I have just received a replacement hub cap from the Pierce Arrow Society in the USA, to replace the missing one shown in the photos. I also have a new pair of wing mirrors (actually they fit on the windscreen pilllars) and these come with the car, plus a new boot lid handle/ lock. I regret that due to my poor health I am unable to do any work on the car, which is stored in my workshop under cover.
I have evidence that the last but one owner paid £60, 000 for the car, but I am advertising it for just £47, 500 to reflect the small jobs needed and the location, in between Brest and Quimper in Brittany, France
I have a shoe box full of bills, history, etc. which comes with the car. Please feel free to contact me for any information or photos. Thank you. Very smooth engine, huge torque, absolutely no rust at all. Fully renovated in Holland a few years ago. Was originally used to ferry dignitaries around in South Africa, then owned by a South African film company. The trail then goes cold until she re-appeared in Holland. After the renovation, she was sold to a Scottish Laird, then to an Englishman, who eventually sold her to myself.
