Description
Built in 1977 at the Belgium Citroen plant Les Filles de Forest where it is believed that most of the 144953 Meharis were produced. Believed delivered new to France but this cannot be confirmed because when Citroen closed Les Filles de Forest the plant bosses burnt all the Citroen records. Named after a camel the dromedary or Mehari.
Finished in its original colour of Orange Kirghiz the 2nd longest running colour after Vert Montana Green. The Orange colour was said to convey a sense of energy and optimism.
This particular Mehari is 4x2 configuration, It was imported into the UK for the 1st time in 1979 and given the registration number it still wears today YBN 302V. This Mahari is well travelled and we have most of the ownership history in its comprehensive file with a lot of invoices including the recent re-commissioning of lots of new body panels bought from a Mehari specialist in the correct colour and with the correct ABS injected panels. This work cost £6500 alone.
Please note this car is on the island of Menorca Spain and can easily be ferried to a destination in the Med. It has its UK registration document and the duty has been paid in the UK. It would be easy to register the car in any country but could quite easily be bought back to the UK. I will update the pictures shortly. The Mehari has a fantastic history including photographic history with lots of invoices with all sorts of work having been carried over the years with all the major components being replaced. It has had,
