Description

2000 Land Rover Discovery 2 TD5 2. 5 ES Auto.
W242 JFX
Project car / spares or repairs. Runs/ Drives/ stops.

Located, Kirton End, near Boston, Lincolnshire, PE20, UK.

Owned for the last 7-8 years. Used as a workhorse vehicle, with occasional towing duties. Rear seats removed as I used it like a van. Rear seats included with the sale.
I was using this vehicle up until the MOT ran out. I have other Land Rovers, Which I am using now instead, So I think this is one too many I don’t need anymore. I will be sad to see it go, as it’s served me well.

MOT expired April 24. Some work may be needed for the next MOT, most likely.
These are old vehicles now, and they do need regular maintenance, diligent care to keep them going/ keep them on the road.
It’s probably better than a lot of them now this age and mileage. But certainly no show pony.

Currently SORN.
Mileage 212, 600
Registered 9/ 3/ 2000
10P engine.
Owners hand book.
Lots of past MOT certificates
6 previous owners.
No category markers on it.
2 keys/ remotes (plus one spare cut blade)
Epsom Green paint
Beige leather interior.
Top spec ES model.
Premium sound system.
Kenwood Bluetooth DAB stereo fitted.
Factory fitted rubbing strips, LR mud guards, roof bars. Twin sunnroofs.
Well maintained, stacks of service history.
Serviced by me every year at 3-6k. (Air filter, fuel filter/ oil and filters).
Fuel system cleaner used on a regular basis so there’s never been any injector issues in my ownership.
Engine and box are in good running order.
Runs and idles at normal temperature with no warning lights.
Brakes work well. Still plenty of meat on the pads.
All fluids have been renewed in my ownership. But the transmission fluid is properly due again soon.
Rear Air Suspension and ACE system fully working! Rare to find now. Both are superb features that really enhance the vehicle. Well worth maintaining.
Turbo is good.
Paintwork looks shiny from a distance, up close there’s minor scratches and marks all over as expected for a 24 year old LR.

Working order- Heating, electric motors, front and rear heated screens, both sun roofs, electric windows. Central locking, left heated seat. Radio, All seat electric movements, cruise control, air suspension, ACE.

No doubt there’s other work done that I have forgotten about too, as there’s been so much of it. But they all need these jobs to keep them going. It’s a comfortable capable vehicle, with life left in it I believe. Ready for the next owner to take the baton. Work needed/ faults.
Rear ACE bush in the ram requires replacement/ (clonks when going round a corner).
Rear tail gate hinges are a bit worn/ have dropped a bit.
Left headlamp has some condensation in it.
Steering wheel mounted radio controls stopped working a few years ago. (Cruise switch works).
Front carpets removed to protect the floors from staying wet. (Carpet included in the sale).
Drivers heated seat has stopped working (never worked on my ownership).
A/ c has been maintained and used in my ownership, though I think it needs regas now.
The front sun roof had started leaking again. I did try to reseal it a few years ago, but it’s started leaning again.
The Headlining is rough. Ideally should be replaced.
Drivers seat is ripped/ well used, as expected for this mileage.
The roof paint is poor/ lacquer going. Not visible on normal use.
There may be more welding needed soon on the chassis but this time around the shock mounts. It hasn’t broken, but the metal is looking thin/ fragile in places? This has not technically failed the MOT yet, but I think it might. Some small areas on the front floors may need welding soon too.
General underbody corrosion that could do with treating.
