Description
Hi, here for sale is my Series Landrover pickup.
I bought this two years ago from a well known north east classic car auction house. It is believed to have come via a deceased estate. Apparently it started out life as a Hi capacity pick up but had the current well made flatbed body fitted to transport stationary engine exhibits to steam fairs and classic shows. It even has rear bars to attach ramps to load the exhibits though sadly no ramps came with it.
It has been a good conversion but done in such a way as to allow it to be readily converted back to a Hi Cap if required but obviously you will need a Hi Cap body to do this.
It has been fitted with a 300Tdi engine and a Landrover Discovery
5 speed gearbox. It also has the Defender/ Stage one style flat front end with longer bonnet.
It came as a non runner and had no keys (apparently lost). Wiring issues were resolved and a new starter motor and battery fitted so now starts and runs great. All the brakes have been overhauled and the heavy duty drums have been skimmed and new shoes and wheel cylinders (see photo).
The truck now starts and runs well and ready for work. It drive’s like a typical leaf sprung Landy and as such my wife refuses to ride in it after only having one trip! The leaf springs axles and brakes are all heavy duty.
I’ve done a few jobs with it and it is a handy thing to have but sadly not getting enough use. Also, I think I’ve scratched my Landrover itch this being the last one in my classic car collection so have decided to let it go.
It is registered as a Historic Vehicle so is both MOT and Tax exempt so probably also means it’s ULEZ exempt as well but check this yourself if that is important to you.
I’m happy to talk cars all day and viewing is welcome and recommended. I’d prefer to talk to you over the phone rather than exchange endless messages or texts. Please view the truck before submitting an offer. If you want to buy it please come and see it and talk to me face to face or at least pick up the phone.
Thank you for looking.
