Description
FORD Scorpio Cosworth Ultima. 2. 900cc. 1997. The top of the range model. Last shape made and being a Cosworth also very rare! Curess body with black leather interior.
Ford discontinued the old Granada range in 1994 and replaced it with a range of cars called the Scorpio. Initially it received a lukewarm reception. The main area that came under criticism was the front end, with its bug-eyed lights and a grille that looked like a mouth.
The range comprised “Executive” (the base model), then a “Ghia” with a higher trim level, and at the top of the range was the “Ultima” Various engines were offered by Ford ranging from a reliable but slightly lack lustre 2. 0, a 2. 3, and then a 2. 9 V6.
However, there was one other model that was offered, the absolute top of the range - the Ford Scorpio Ultima 2. 9 V6 24V Cosworth. The 2. 9 V6 version was never a slouch but when Ford handed it over to Cosworth the end result was extremely impressive and the engine coupled with an uprated sports suspension means that this car goes and handles far better than you would expect. There were few of these made due to their high cost and so they are very rare today.
The specification includes all round electric windows and mirrors, electric sunroof, (not sure it is working as I have never used it.) climate control, electric heated leather seats, radio cassette and cd multi changer, cruise control etc.
Only 43, 800 miles.
Long MOT with no advisories.
It not only drives nicely but if going to a classic car show will likely be the only one there!
