Description
Mercedes 307d T1 Camper. 1983.
Named Colonel Mustard.
Rust free. Tax and MOT free as it is Historic. What a perfect combo.
I imported this a couple of years ago as I was searched high and low for a rust free Tax exempt Camper, the biggest problem with Campers is that they sit for most of the year unused and when you need them, you find that the Tax and MOT has run out. Well not with this.
It was first converted in 1988 by a company called IMV in Slovenia, which later became the company Adria, so its a very early Adria Camper. That said, it has been altered inside since it was converted to a more modern user friendly set up with pull out double bed over a garage area in the back, which means that you can keep the bed mostly made up and push it in (squash it up) during the day.
The Mercedes OM 616 four cylinder Diesel engine is legendary for its durability, this one runs really well with no leaks and with a recent service. Don't expect a fast van though, you are looking in the wrong place for one of those.
When it arrived in the UK it was stopped by VOSA for a roadside check, it passed with flying colours and both the MOTs ive had done have gone straight through with no advisories other than having to fit a Foglight to meet UK rules.
I use a double shower tent at the back doors to enable me to have a hot shower in relative comfort when off grid camping.
Comes with a new Diesel heater, new water tank and pump, new low voltage lighting throughout the cabin wired through a consul to switch each circuit on and off, twin battery set up so that you will only drain the leisure battery when camping, the charging system will top it up automatically once the main battery is fully charged. It has a new tow bar with electrics fitted. I will add more info as I think of it. Legendary long lasting engine, full size bed, road Tax free and MOT not required. No rust.
