1994 Mercedes-Benz W124 E220 Automatic Saloon, 67k miles, Fully Original
Offered for sale is my 1994 Mercedes-Benz W124 E220, covering only 67k miles since new. Finished in Smoke Silver Metallic (702) with Beige Fabric (005). Build date: November 1993, first registered in UK, February 1994. I purchased the car in August 2023 with the same miles as it has now and wanted to get it back on the road, having been stored for many years.
The car had been stored in a garage since 2008 until I purchased it and was sold to me from a widow, where it was her husbands car for many years. The entire car still wears it's original paint and is an extremely solid example with none of the usual prone rust areas that most W124s suffer from. To add, all the glass is original, with the Mercedes-Benz etchings present.
Inside it is very original and just needs a good clean and it will be near new condition. There is no wear on the seats anywhere and the instrument needles are still nice and bright orange with no fading.
The car was optioned with outside temperature gauge, cruise control and automatic 4-speed gearbox.
I have the owners manuals, service book and various paperwork for the car including old tax discs and an original Mercedes-Benz dealership tax disc holder that is still present on the windscreen.
If one wanted to make the car perfect, it would need some paintwork to be done, particularly the bumpers due to some scrapes. However, as the car is entirely original, I have not carried out any paintwork and this can be the choice for the next custodian to decide.
Since owning the car, I have fully serviced it (engine oil, oil filter, new sump plug and o-ring, 4x spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter and coolant change), put 4x new tyres on and steam cleaned the entire underside.
The car runs beautifully and idles extremely smoothly and when I drove it on private land, it feels very tight and how a car with this mileage should be. If you know old Mercedes, you will know what I mean!
What do I think the car needs for an MOT? Brakes all around and a centre exhaust as far as I can tell.
Reason for sale: I am finding myself not to have the time to finish this car and would prefer it to be sold to someone who will.
In short, I doubt you will find something like this again soon, certainly not with this mileage.
Obviously, the car will need to be trailered away due to not having an MOT, but the car is fully running and working fine and can be driven/ loaded for transport purposes.
