Description
For sale is my MG PA/ PB.
I purchased the car as a restoration project from the estate of deceased Ron Grant, Hyde Manchester.
The chassis no P2004 was registered on the MMM register. The chassis was in good condition apart for an area on the near side front. I sent the chassis to Russ Truman, Bradford who did an excellent repair.
The engine was basically scrap just a pile of rusty parts, the block was cracked, no cylinder head, crank absolutely worn out. I eventually managed to source a PB engine which looked in good condition, so the deal was done.
I took the sump off and to my surprise it had been fitted with a new Phoenix crankshaft and new bearings and looked like it had done no miles. The cylinder head is made of aluminium so we fitted a new camshaft and followers, new valves and bevel gears to the front. All this work was carried out by Mike Entwistle at his MG Garage in Middlewich.
I have recently fitted a side mounted Marshall supercharger and a PB gearbox.
The body has a new ash frame and is panelled in aluminium, except for the scuttle which is steel. A new aluminium bonnet and 5 new wheels with Blockley tyres. The crown wheel and pinion in the differential was replaced with second hand one.
The car has full weather equipment made and fitted by Pickering’s of Bradford.
The car starts and runs very well and can keep up with modern traffic.
