Description
This 1949 Willys CJ-3A has been completely and professionally restored and is therefore in as good an aesthetic, structural and functional condition as a new car. It is the civilian version of the M38 military jeep, a version that succeeded the legendary MB in World War II. This is one of the first examples from 1949, not very dissimilar to the progenitor that served in the war: the same 2200 cc engine with 60 bhp (the legendary Go-Devil L-134), the same three-speed T90 gearbox plus gearbox, a few modifications to the bodywork. The one offered for sale is a fully functional, reliable specimen with extreme mobility and a lot of fun to drive. It is fitted with a roll-bar because the owner often uses the jeep with great satisfaction but considers it safer to have additional protection in the event of a rollover: this roll-bar can however be easily removed by loosening a few bolts. The car has Italian civil registration dating back to 1973, all documentation is original and in order, the technical inspection (TUV) has just been issued and is valid for the next two years. The car is located in Giaveno (postcode 10094), 30 km from Turin, and can be viewed and collected here after the sale. Videos of the car in operation are available.
