Description

This is a light recommissioning project. However, its a project with very good bones.
Based on what I was told by the guy who sold it to me.
The previous owner was a retired automotive engineer who rebuilt the car from the ground up. So, I'm led to believe that the mechanicals and electrics were either refurbished or replaced.
I was told that the previous owner became acutely ill before the renovation could be completed. The roof is fine but the car body will most likely need a respray.
When I bought the car, I drove it from Manchester to the Stena ferry in Cairn Ryan and then a further fifty miles from Belfast docks to the North Coast of Northern Ireland. I'm no mechanical expert. All I can say is that the car didn't miss a beat. Both the oil pressure and water temperature stayed constant.
Obviously there's a discrepancy with the mileage. The last MoT shows 90, 000 miles but the speedo shows 44, 000 miles.
I believe that the speedo wasn't working and couldn't be repaired, so a new (old) one was sourced and fitted.
I would've finished the car and advertised it long before now. But Covid happened and around the same time my own health took a nose dive. So, the car has sat in a very dry warehouse for a few years and been started occasionally.
The only deterioration I can see is a very light coating of surface rust along the bottom of the body, along either side. Given the car has been kept on the coast, this is to be expected.
I can't recall if I was given the V5 with the car. I'm going to see what little paperwork I do have, since it came with no service history. I'll update the advertisement depending on what I find.

Please bring a mechanic with you, if you aren't one yourself, so you can give the car a thorough examination. I bought this car, wanting to keep it on the road and not be parted out, into oblivion. I'd hope that the next owner buys it, with the same intentions, because I'd love to see the project completed.

All proceeds will be going to a sailing for first responders 'not for profit', that I hope to set up in 2025.
