Description
This 1968 Fiat Dino was originally from France, but imported in 2013 by its previous owner who had it looked after by a Dino specialist in the South. They have confirmed it is a matching numbers car and that the low mileage appears to be genuine.
We have owned the car for a number of years however due to commitments with other classics we bought along the way, didn't get around to doing the restoration that it deserves.
The engine is in perfect condition and idles nicely, it selects gears easily and runs smoothly.
The brakes do need work as it has a low brake peddle, this issue is common among Dinos and there is a tailormade solution for this available.
There are some cosmetic works that would need to be done, as seen in the pictures.
The engine has a top end rebuild around 2011 and a carb rebuild in 2005 by the previous owner totalling around £8, 000
The last MOT was carried out at 27, 899km
Just needs someone to complete the restoration and she will be a beautiful car, sure to turn heads wherever you may drive. The Dino has an interesting history, as it was created by Ferrari to solve the issue of needing to homologate a formula 2 race engine by producing 500 examples of the 2. 0 litre Dino V6 aluminium blocks. This job was given to Fiat as the Ferrari factory was not capable of producing this large number of engines. This engine was placed in a Bertone designed coupe which became an elegant pairing with 3, 670 coupes being produced in total.
