After WWII, Healey dreamed of a sports car brand and consulted Abbott for the drop head coupe bodywork. Together they created this quirky sports car with a Riley 4 cylinder 'big four'.
86 cars of this model were built (34 of which were B and C models) between 1950 and 1954, of which a total of approximately 25 are currently known.
This Healey 2. 4 liter Abbott C drop head coupe is very rare.
This Healey is equipped with a 4-speed gearbox driving the rear wheels and a 2. 4-litre twin cam Riley engine and bodywork from Abbott of Farnham.
The body consists of a steel chassis with aluminum body and is right-hand drive.
The bodywork is in its original form and was once completely repainted.
The paint has a good shine and is homogeneous in color. The finish of the paint is not great with minor finishing flaws here and there.
The red convertible roof was renewed at some point and is in very good condition.
The wheel covers, spats, bumpers and original number plates are present separately with the vehicle (photos on request).
The engine compartment is in clean original condition.
The engine and its accessories (starter, alternator, air filter, carburetor, radiator, etc.) have been overhauled according to original specifications!!
A new gearbox for this car was purchased from Healey guru Warren Kennedy and installed.
The exhaust was replaced by a stainless steel one and is in good condition.
The car is equipped with a braking system according to original specifications with drum brakes all around.
The lighting is according to correct specifications, partly renewed, and works in the normal regulatory manner.
The wiring is original and, as far as visible, in good condition.
The electrical accessories are largely according to original specifications, an electronic ignition was installed in the power distributor, as well as an electric cooling fan.
The dashboard instruments and electrical equipment are according to original specifications and in correct working condition
The interior of the car is in reasonable condition with lots of patina and signs of wear.
The seats and interior panels in red leather show a lot of patina, the dashboard is the original one in wood, the black carpet floor covering has been renewed.
The car drives perfectly and is in a very good functional condition, but with some cosmetic concerns. Moreover, it makes a beautiful sound.
The vehicle is an original English car that has been imported into Belgium since 1993.
