Description
RenaultSport Clio 182 Trophy
A Trophy in brilliant mechanical, excellent interior and good exterior condition.
Lots of questions over the last month (Many of them answered by just reading the advert below...) but not a single person has come to see the car. Don't be put off by the low price - it's not "cheap" because it's rubbish. The car's priced realistically given the mileage and number of owners. I recently sold a BMW M3. It was for sale for 8 months. The first person who finally came to see it bought it immediately, no haggling, asking price paid.
I've had this car nearly 5 years and driven over 25k miles - many more miles than I shoud have, but for good reason - it's been amazing. Everything you've heard about them is true - very little comes close, at any price.
About the car:
• Yes it's higher mileage than average at 139k miles, but the car is in truly excellent working condition.
• Good tyres all round. Michelin Pilot Sport 3's with 4-5mm across each tyre.
• 2 keys, service books, manuals and history going back 15 years.
• Original Renault accident pack and tyre foam.
• MOT till November 2025.
• The underside is fully undersealed so no rust there, however there is some surface corrosion on exposed suspension components as you'd expect of a 20 year old car.
• The Recaro Trendline seats are in excellent condition, no rips, and I keep full covers on them at all times. Rear bench seat is 100% (See image).
• Recent new battery, coil pack, quality leads and Bosch spark plugs.
• In general the paint's good, though there is some slight fading on the plastic door handles (See image).
• Some stone chips on the bonnet and a small depression dent (See image).
• Sachs dampers are functioning perfectly but were serviced in the past.
• Turini wheels were refurbished a few ago and still in near perfect condition.
• New rear brake pads and full service at recent MOT.
• Retrimimed (In leather) steering wheel.
• Belts and dephaser changed at K-Tec 3 1/ 2 years ago.
• Pipercross CREN11 steel exhaust system.
• K-Tec intake replacement but original airbox comes with the car, and I can refit if you don't want the cone filter.
• DS2500 pads on the front with at least 5k miles left, though the discs are starting to get a tiny lip on them so will need replacing, again - i'd say in 5k miles.
• To answer the question about the previous MOT advisory on corrosion on the drivers side front sill - it was repaired prior to the recent MOT re-test, and the decat pipe was replaced with the catalytic converter hence the emissions pass.
The car is in South London, but sometimes in Devon near Lyme Regis. Not likely to let you test drive it, but happy to demonstrate and let you have a good look. You won't be disappointed with this one as the engine is peppier than most...
Remember 2025 is this cars 20th anniversary so there will be lots of interest and publicity if you decide to sell it on. Demand will be great. If the sale price is what I’m looking for, or very close then I’ll throw in the Renault promo DVD and a stack of period magazines with reviews, and maybe front discs and yellowstuff pads as those will need doing in 5k miles or so. I also have a spacesaver wheel (They don't come as sandard), a standard 182 splitfold, alcantara rear seat with headrests, and a spare exhaust header as one day, it'll need it's original one replacing. All or some of the extras might go with the car depending on the agreed sale price.
