Description
This beautifully restored E-type was despatched to the USA on September 14th 1966. First owner was Mr. Owen O’Neil from San Francisco. The car is completely matching numbers; a certificate of the Jaguar Daimler Trust is available. The E-type is finished in Opalescent Silver Grey with a black leather interior trim.
After its stay in the USA the E-type was imported to Germany in the 2000s. The then German owner started the restoration of the bodywork. During this process the car got its current colour (original colour was Primrose Yellow). In 2011 the car was bought by the current owner and imported to The Netherlands. From this moment on, the (maintenance) history of the car is fully known.
For the car, to get its current appearance, the owner started a no-expense spared restoration during the period 2012-2013. The restoration is fully documented in terms of invoices and photographs. The work carried out includes:
new, spot welded, floor pans
new front sub frame
overhaul of the complete drive train. engine
new 5 speed JT-5 gear box (original number correct gearbox available).
overhaul IRS/ differential
new wiring loom.
full SS sports exhaust system including manifolds.
improved brake calipers
electronic ignition
improved cooling system
6. 0J x 15“ chrome wire wheels with Michelin XWX tires
The original (non-restored) hard-top is available and can be included in the sale.
With the car comes a complete restored original toolkit and jack. Also available is an original operating handbook. Since the restoration the car has driven about 7500 kilometer. The restoration including annual maintenance is carried out by Jurgen Schoenmakers Classic Cars.
Recently the current owner has decided to put his E-type up for sale and requested us to support him in the sales process. This beautiful classic, with hardly any signs of use is waiting for its new owner to take him on a long distance road trip or just a trip on a sunny afternoon.
