Description
VOLKSWAGEN TRANSPORTER T2 BAY COMBI 1600 1970 In 1967 the Transporter T2 Bay was presented. The changes, compared to the first T1 series, were substantial: redesigned bodywork, revised mechanics, updating of many components. The advantages of the new series were numerous: road holding was improved thanks to modifications to the front suspension arms. Space on board (both for people and goods) was increased; visibility was significantly better thanks to the large glass area of the one-piece 'panoramic' windscreen (the reason for the name baywindow or simply bay); the heating and ventilation system was more efficient. The vehicle mounted VW's rotationally correct engine, the classic air-cooled boxer of 1584 cm³ with 50 hp. This version for Italy was also referred to as a 'giardinetta promiscua' (with removable seats made to favour freight or passengers). This original Italian vehicle has been professionally restored. A ready-to-use vehicle, it allows one to travel in company, being homologated for 9 seats, and participate with satisfaction in the various branded rallies offered in Italy. Very well restored vehicle. Excellent efficiency.
