Description

ABARTH 850 TC NURBURGRING STRADALE 1965 On 3rd September 1961, three Abarth 850 TCs take the first three places in their class at the Nurburgring 500 km. At the same time the 1000 units produced, necessary for international homologation in the touring category, are reached. Carlo Abarth then rides the wave of this success by presenting the Abarth 850 TC Nurburgring in November of the same year and offers more than the TC: a power output of 55 hp, special axle shafts and the front suspension equipped with a leaf spring with an inverted eye. The car we are proposing here is one of the last to be produced, in a very rare road version, in 1964, with the new upwind doors, and registered in 1965 to an unwitting electrician, who used it as a traditional family car before selling it in 1971 to another owner who, at the time, did not realise that he had a special car in his hands, so much so that it was eventually abandoned and, as it no longer paid the tax stamps, was officially struck off the register. In the 2000s, it was rediscovered by someone who thought at first glance that it was a classic Abarth 600 D, but immediately realised from the markings and details that it was instead a rare Abarth 850 TC Nurburgring. We met a friend of the first owner who confirmed that the car had 90, 000 original kilometres when it was found and that it now has 102, 500 with its original engine. It is therefore a 100% correct Abarth 4516 chassis matching number car. The car is in perfect technical and aesthetic condition, excellent for marque rallies, regularity races, fun and easy-going. Original Abarths are important cars. This one is even more so as it is in road-going trim, correct and in keeping with the period, as they came out of Corso Marche 38 in Turin at the time. One of the last road-registered 850 TC Nurburgring cars, if not the last, given that it was registered in January 1965. Correct and complete restoration. Traced history of the vehicle of which you can now, if you wish, request the original registration plates
