Description
The time has come to move my stunning and extremely low mileage Mg Montego onto a new owner. I’ve owned this car twice as I regretted selling it the 1st time around but after almost 10 years since I 1st bought it I feel it’s time to move on.
The car is simply superb, genuine mileage of 32k (had 29k when I 1st bought it) and the interior shows no signs of wear at all to confirm its mileage. Even has the new car smell that these used to have. The exterior of the car is also spot on, absolutely no rust at all and lovely paintwork.
The car starts and drives perfectly. I’d have no issues driving this anywhere in complete confidence. This year I have replaced the entire braking system (not that it needed a full repair) the master cylinder was leaking so I sourced a new one and then decided to fit new calipers, discs, pads, shoes and slave cylinders. I also replaced the clutch cable and battery. I also replaced the shocks, springs, bushes including new nuts and bolts. It’s had a full service too with genuine MG/ Rover bits including the Cambelt and Water pump. This car has never let me down and runs lovely and is great on fuel. The car comes with an extensive service history too, handbooks and lots of invoices for work done over all its years.
I feel this car is one for the collector really with its condition and low mileage. I only use it for car shows and summer days out. I had it on display in the NEC a few years back and always gets more attention than you’d expect. This is the 1st year of the facelift model which in my opinion is the one to have and you see more early cars than these facelift ones. The spare has never been on the road and the tool kit is all there too. If you’re looking for one of these then this has to be one of the nicest I’ve ever seen. With restoration projects fetching 3k+ i don’t think you could restore one to this standard for the same money.
Hopefully the pictures speak for themselves. This is real gem of a car that’s been loved and cherished.
