Ground up build completed using Rod Yates LWB body, including a Reliant 850 engine & gearbox 

The Appeal 
Like many small cars, Austin’s Seven was capable far beyond its diminutive dimensions and its maker’s original plans. Light and nimble it found fame in period competitively off and on track. Even today, Sevens remain staples of the vintage racing scene. 
Of those racers, the Ulster is perhaps the most famous, its sleek aluminium bodywork as renowned as the racing success that gave the car its name. 
Rod Yates is one of the best regarded of the handful of specialists offering Ulster body manufacture. This car sports his work, as is clear from the quality and detail evident in the photographs.
The work was completed in Summer 2023. Beyond the detailed cosmetics there is a mechanical specification to match, delivering a car with the power to make it comparatively easy to drive in modern traffic. 
Note: with the later pedal box and remote gearshift, the drivers cockpit area not suitable for larger/ taller build.

- Rod Yates aluminium Ulster body which has been lowered by 2inches
- Bonnet extended by 3 inches to improve aesthetics 
- Aluminium body prepared using aviation grade Nuvite polish 
- Radiator and wings finished in satin black powder coated paint 
- 17in steel wheels in black powder coat
- Fitted with new Armstrong tyres at rear and new Longstone tyres to front 
- Complete with Austin patent plate and Rod Yates body number plate 
- Wigan Weave tonneau in black which is waterproof
- Dark green leather interior
- Well detailed interior  
- Classic-look oil pressure gauge, cosmetic vintage speedo and Klaxon horn 
- Vintage Smiths 8 day clock and vintage switch plate for ignition and lights 
 
The Mechanics

- Improved rear rod brakes and front cable brakes 
- Adapted ELTOS vintage remote gearshift
- Engine & gearbox built by Jansen VOF of Netherlands 
- Cable operated clutch with adapted TR3 pedal box
- 12V electrics and modern alternator 
- Mini triple core radiator disguised behind period radiator shell and mesh 
- Thermostat controlled radiator fan 
- Four gallon fuel tank with period flip top fuel cap 
- Spare wheel behind seat
- There is space for second fuel tank if the buyer wishes to increase range 
- Runs on super unleaded fuel 
- Recent full service

Fully braked custom made trailer also available with new ramps, at £1200.
