Description
Late year R170 SLK 320 super smooth V6 Auto, not the bag-of-spanners Kompressor washing machine engine! I'm officially the third owner although the second owner was my father who bought the car in October 2006 for £19, 990. Since then it's covered extremely minimal mileage and been stored in a heated garage for the last 18 years. As such it's not the usual rust bucket which plagues this era of Daimler Chrysler Mercedes. The fuel filler area is free from corrosion and I have recently cleaned all the drain points, another common weakspot leading to rust and damp interiors. Aside from the astoundingly low mileage, all the plastics are supple and non sun-bleached. Everything works. The car comes with heated black anthracite leather upholstery, which looks barely sat in, OE Mercedes floormats, and HID headlights with wash. The folding metal top works flawlessly. The Cubanite Silver coachwork is in excellent order. My parents transferred ownership of the car to me due to advancing years, and the car simply not being used. I have had the car for a few months now, originally intending to keep it. However, I don't have a garage and I'd like to sell it to a good home to someone who will cherish this modern classic inside a garage. I've replaced the tyres with a full set of brand new Uniroyal RainSport 5s and replaced the boot gas struts. The car is now good to go. I'm in no rush to sell and will continue to use the car sparingly when the roads are dry to keep it ticking over. Needlessy to say, given the generation of its previous owner (my father is an Alfa enthusiast used to spending on maintenance!) every single piece of paperwork is present and every receipt accounted for. Comes with 3 keys, all which work. Private plate will stay with car upon sale as the icing on the cake. Car's like these are getting rarer and this is truly a car which you can use in all seasons. The SLK was a groundbreaker when it came out, and it's still relevant today. The engine and gearbox work very well together and it's got far more personality than the electric fridges which seem to occupy our roads nowadays!
