Description
PORSCHE 911 993 CARRERA TARGA TIPTRONIC 1996 MY 97 The Porsche 993 is the last series of the air-cooled 911s. The Targa version was produced in only 4249 units. Designed by Englishman Tony Hatter, the launch version was a coupé or cabriolet with rear-wheel drive; the range was further enriched in 1996 with the debut of the Targa-bodied model (like the proposed car). A new alloy multi-link rear suspension system was one of the biggest changes brought by the 993 series compared to its predecessors. The benefits of using the new suspension were many: improved ride quality and stability, reduced tendency to oversteer, and a noticeable reduction in perceived noise inside the cabin. The engine of the Porsche 993 was an air-cooled, in-line 6-cylinder 'boxer' with a 3. 6-litre single-shaft timing system capable of developing a maximum output of 282 hp. In terms of performance, according to the manufacturer's figures, the Porsche 911 993 was capable of a top speed of 270 km/ h (270 mph) and a 0-100 km/ h (0-100 mph) time of 5. 6 seconds. Versions produced from 1996, (like the proposed car which is a my 97) onwards, introduce a few improvements. The rear exhausts are no longer oval but square in shape. The Targa bodywork (a cross between a coupé and a cabriolet trim) featured an electrically openable tinted multi-layer glass roof. The proposed car, produced in Stuttgart for the American market, was imported into Germany in 2015 with 45474 miles. For the sake of transparency, we would like to point out that at carfax, the car had a minor fender-bender in November 2002 and had been professionally repaired. It was checked and inspected by us and showed no faults and was therefore purchased in 2020. Today it has 55867 miles equal to 89909 km. Car comes with all its original documentation and stickers and various routine maintenance invoices. Fitted with many original factory options. Ready for use, it is a car of sure and constant future appreciation. Rare MY '97 Targa version In perfect condition and ready for use
