Description
INNOCENTI MINI COOPER 1000 MK3 1970 Total restoration In the mid-1960s Innocenti's automotive boom coincided with the marketing of the Mini (Mini Minor). Manufactured under licence from the British Motor Corporation, with bodyshells moulded in Italy and mechanics from England, the Mini was constantly updated and improved, even compared to the original English version, for the discerning Italian public (more luxurious trim), which led to it becoming a trendy, successful car with undisputed sporting ambitions in the Cooper versions. At the beginning of 1970, the Mini adopted the modifications of the contemporary British Mini marked MK3. Many changes were made: the sliding windows disappeared and were replaced by descending windows without deflectors (only 4586 examples), the hinges on the outer doors disappeared, and the interior ventilation improved. Purchased by a 32-year-old accountant from Fiorenzuola (PC), he kept it for four years, then sold it in 1974 to a young and dynamic 31-year-old from Piacenza, who kept it for many years, retaining the original plates and documents. Replaced in recent times, it underwent an excellent restoration that focused in particular on the bodywork, which was completely restored and repainted. The gearbox was also regenerated and the engine reconditioned in 2019 and has since covered 12935 km. Completing the presentation is the original, restored and sanitised interior with original windows. Matching number and matching colour, fitted with CRS, original number plates, original booklet and owner's handbook, with the fitting of a handy battery disconnect, it is certainly a car of historic interest to the discerning collector. One of 4500 Cooper 'vetrona' produced. Complete restoration. Original number plates and documents Matching number and matching colour, equipped with CRS
